Jessie's books are amazing! She has done a fantastic job encapsulating the Vietnamese American experience. There are charming little details like "Aatiso!" (Artichoke), just as every Vietnamese parent says it. Her artwork is also adorable and perfectly captures: 1) Children's Art with Vietnamese themes 2) Relevant Vietnamese and English verbiage choices and 3) Education of Vietnamese history i.e. Da Nang's Dragon Bridge, Ha Noi's Turtle Tower, etc.
I especially recommend these books for:
1) Parents who want to introduce their children to the Vietnamese experience.
2) Anyone at any age level looking to brush up on their Vietnamese (Being Vietnamese-American myself helped a lot!).
3) A fun time letting your more fluent partner point out how much you need to improve your Vietnamese!

After tucking him in, his mother tells a soothing rhyming tale about animals around the world also settling down to sleep. This book not only aids Vietnamese learners, but also presents a comforting bedtime routine, which I’ve found useful with my toddler during restless nights. The rhythmic storytelling serves as a calming mechanism, leaving both child and reader in a tranquil state by the end. It’s a delightful addition to bedtime rituals, offering a peaceful transition to sleep while fostering language exploration.
